All India Essay Competition Selections

To mark the World Water Day, on 22 March 2017, Indian Desalination Association (InDA), South Zone, is organizing an essay writing competition in English for the college students across the country to spread the awareness on water and related issues.
The Box Office (tbo) of Madras Institute of Technology is selecting the best essays to submit them to the organizer. Hence, TBO encourages the students (including the PG and Research scholars) of MIT, Chennai, to participate in this competition. The selected entries will be sent to the organizer, InDA. Winners will be issued prizes and certificates on the World Water Day (22 March 2017) by the organizer, InDA. Apart from that, the authors of the best TWO from the selected essays will receive prizes as a token of encouragement from The Box Office, MIT.
Important notes to the participants
• Topic of the essay: “India and the Water Crisis - A Possible Solution”
• Word count: 1500 to 2000 words
• The essay should propose one solution (to water crisis) in detail.
• Last date for submission: 7 February 2017
• The essay should be sent via e-mail as an attachment file only. The file can be in Word or PDF format. Also, the contestant is required to send a scanned copy of the Bonafide-certificate obtained from the Head of the Department. The entries without Bonafide-certificate will not be accepted for the selections.
• Only one entry is allowed for each participant.
• Your essay should be in ‘Times New Roman’ font with the font size of 12 inches.
• The first page of the essay (preferably next to the title) should contain the details like Name with Registration number, Mobile number, e-mail ID, and Name of the Institute.
• All the essays will be scanned for plagiarism and the plagiarized essays will be strictly prohibited. Be original. Quote references to avoid plagiarism.
